Abstract – Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have promising potential for global healthcare, particularly with the development of the Generative Pre-trained Transformer 4 (GPT-4) deep learning model. GPT-4 can revolutionize healthcare by enabling natural language processing for electronic health records, clinical decision support, drug discovery, and patient communication. However, implementing GPT-4 comes with ethical considerations and concerns about data privacy, bias, and algorithmic transparency. This paper reviews the current state of AI in healthcare, including the potential of GPT-4, and discusses the ethical implications and challenges for successful integration. We highlight the potential benefits and challenges of using these technologies in both developed and underdeveloped countries and provide recommendations for future research and policy.
