|
Jaein Lee is a lecturer on education at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) and the co-chair of the Data Wise Coach Certification program. Her research interests focus on institutional practices and supports for first-generation low-income immigrants and students of color, with special focus on undocumented immigrant students. Her recent study explored how undocumented immigrant students demonstrate their agency using non-dominant values and practices while navigating a predominantly white university. As a Data Wise coach, she provides teacher training on how to use data collaboratively to bring equity to instruction and practices in schools, nationally and internationally. Previously, she worked as a research analyst at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, providing site-based research and technical support to school districts in projects related to college readiness and access, family and community engagement, and English Language Learners.
Lee holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College, M.A. from the University of Chicago, Ed.M. in education policy and management and Ph.D. in education from Harvard University. Dr. Ryo Kurihara is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture, Graduate School of Engineering at The University of Tokyo. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering in 2021 from Nagoya University. Prior to his current appointment in April 2024, he worked as a Project Researcher at The University of Tokyo from 2021 to 2024. His primary research interests lie in building materials, cementitious materials, and concrete engineering. His research focuses on the microstructural and nanoscale characterization of hardened cement paste, specifically utilizing proton-nuclear-magnetic-resonance (1H-NMR) relaxometry to evaluate pore structure evolution, calcium-silicate-hydrate (C-S-H) gels, and carbonation mechanisms for sustainable, low-carbon concrete technologies.
