Lucy Torres-Deas, MD is the director of the Ambulatory Care Network Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinics and director of the Ambulatory Care Network Internal Medicine Community and Population Health at the Allen Hospital at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. In these roles, she has taken the lead in the integration and implementation of Palliative Care and Behavioral Health programs in the ACN, which are aligned with national programs. Dr. Torres-Deas has worked closely with Internal Medicine leaders to integrate telemedicine into daily practice to expand access and provide quality care to underserved populations. Dr. Torres-Deas graduated from Vanderbilt University and completed her medical school training at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and her residency at Montefiore’s Primary Care and Social Internal Medicine Program. Dr Torres-Deas teaches a diverse array of students, residents, and faculty on Integrating the Biopsychosocial-Spiritual Model in Medicine to promote Whole Person Care, Well-being, and Health Justice. Her interests lie in improving mental health and well-being for underserved communities and the healthcare teams, who care for these communities, using a diversity, equity, inclusion, and health justice lens. |
