Organic Architecture Beyond Frank Lloyd Wright

by Heuiseo Kim
Category: Environmental Science
Abstract – This paper aims to redefine "organic architecture" beyond Frank Lloyd Wright's original definition, exploring its historical and global contexts. Organic architecture, inspired by natural forms, has been interpreted by various architects over time, from the Cappadocia Hoodoos in Turkey to Antoni Gaudi's work in Spain. Contemporary architects, such as Moon Hoon, continue to evolve the style. The paper argues for a more fluid definition of organic architecture that encompasses a diverse range of forms and historical periods, emphasizing the need to recognize the contributions of architects beyond Wright.
