EFFECT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS OF THE FAMILIES OF PSHS-MC BATCH 2024 STUDENTS

by Luch Markus Mikhail Tolin et al
Category: Social Science
Abstract – Christmas has been an integral part of Filipino culture. This study looks into the Christmas traditions of the families of Philippine Science High School - Main Campus Batch 2024 students, and how they changed because of COVID-19. Five interviewees and 30 survey respondents were asked about celebrating Christmas with their families. Primarily due to fears of contracting COVID-19, quarantine restrictions, and financial reasons, Batch 2024 families’ attitude towards health, travel, and attending religious events were significantly different before and during the pandemic. However, they believe that the Christmas spirit is still present even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
